Speculation had been rife that captain Richie McCaw may confirm his retirement after the tournament, but one who called immediate time on his rugby career was Dan Carter. Carter is the highest points scorer in All Blacks history, and a mercurial talent.

Forget failure. In 2007, New Zealand were fancied to go the distance in France, but were eliminated by the hosts at the quarter final stage. Failure is an obstacle to most. Those who experience failure and move forward learn to accept it, and look to move forward again.
Following the above principles allows a person or a team of people to look to the future rather than resting on the past. Eight years later, they are back to back world champions. An incredible achievement never before seen.
Success in not instantaneous. To succeed, you need to be patient. There is no such thing as an overnight success. After being eliminated in 2007 by France, the Kiwi’s had to wait another four years for retribution.
