You’ve made changes to your nutritional habits. You’ve overhauled all the bad habits that you had, and these have now become good habits.

But….

Having been in this industry for over twenty years combined, there is a very, very common theme that we see far too much.

When we fail, we fail big, and we fall hard.

Here’s the scenario:

You’ve had a bad day at work. The weather’s awful, and your motivation is low. You decide to skip your workout, and head home. You open the cupboard, and reach for the biscuits. “Only one”. That one is not where the story ends.

It’s just the beginning….

Monday Mindset - Blog Title

You monster your way through half a packet of them. Why? You do so because you don’t have the mindset to fail small.

You say to yourself “Oh well. I screwed everything up eating that one biscuit, so I might as well have a few more”. “Tomorrow is a new day”. “Monday is a new week”. “I’ll start again then”. Blah, blah, blah.

Is the logical answer not to have the one or maybe two, and leave it there?

You need to shift your mindset, if you’re to really get what you want. Monday comes every seven days. “It’s ok to start again on Monday. It’s a fresh week”. Do not adopt this mindset.  You’re on dangerous ground. You need to treat everyday exactly the same, whether it’s a Monday or not.

Fail small.

Mistakes are proof that you are trying. We all make them. One biscuit. One beer. It isn’t the end of the world, and is not going to sabotage everything you’ve worked for.

Learn to accept these small failures. Once you get your head around this, forwards is the only way you’re going to go.

Fail to adopt them, and you’ll only be digging deeper, and further down.
