On Friday night you eat 1,500 calories extra at your mates birthday meal. On Monday, you eat 1,500 calories extra by excessively snacking at your desk whilst at work. You then do the same the following week at your friends house warming, and the same at work because you’re stressed.

Between the extra calories you consumed on the Friday, and the calories you consumed at work on the Monday, what is the difference between them? They were both the exact same amount of calories.

The answer is nothing.

Calories are calories no matter what the day, what the occasion, what the location or whatever else is going on in your life.

Call these occasions what you want. Most of them are “but, because, or I don’t know” occasions. Yes. By all means go out and enjoy yourselves. That’s why flexible dieting works. It allows you to enjoy the things you like in moderation.

So what are we saying?

Blog Title - Calories

Do not look for a reason to justify this type of thing all the time. Yes. Enjoy your friends birthdays. Enjoy your own, but know this…..

Your body will not differentiate between calories. Excessive calories are excessive calories. It will eventually lead to weight gain. Regardless of what day it is or what occasion it is.

Consider how many of these occasions you will have in the months to come and plan ahead. Choose wisely.

Enjoy yourself.

Just make sure that all these events add up to so many ‘one-offs’ that you lose count of how many have stood in your way of achieving your goals or target.
