Over the years I have always done regular exercise. Lots of walking, gyms, classes like circuits and body pump and although I was fairly fit, my weight never changed.

In November 2014, my gym buddy suggested we do the ’28 Day Challenge’ that she had seen advertised as we both wanted to lose weight before a trip to Dublin. I loved it and did lose some weight. However, I was worried about the cost of joining so close to Christmas so I decided to rethink it after.

Then in the new year my husband had emergency surgery on his back and was left unable to work for months which meant there was no way I could join. So I carried on with my classes at the local leisure centre as usual and although my fitness levels were ok nothing changed. I thought about FF a lot.

Two weeks before Christmas last year life as I knew it changed. My husband and I separated suddenly and what followed that separation I could never have imagined. I can honestly say it has put me through hell.

A month after the separation my gym buddy was no longer able to come to the gym classes with me. This was tough. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for years and I knew I wouldn’t carry on going on my own.

Then In January, I noticed an ad on Facebook for Fitness Formation, and the new ‘6 Week Challenge’. I knew it was exactly what I needed and from that first session I knew I had to join. After years of gyms and classes and walking and staying the same after that six weeks, I was surprised how many people commented on how much weight I had lost and how good I looked considering what was still going on in my personal life.

Vicky Nevitt - Success Story

Since joining in February, I have gone from a size 16 to a 12 and I have to confess I have not changed my diet at all! I am the strongest, fittest and most confident I have ever been and looking forward to being fab and 40 next year. My 3 year old son thinks it’s amazing to have such a strong mummy who can carry him on her shoulders.

I have really surprised myself at just how much I have achieved in such a short space of time. The weight I’m able to lift, the fact that I can now do full press ups. I bought myself a bike with a trailer after never having the confidence to ride a bike never mind riding a bike while towing trailer and a boy. I completed Born Survivor in April which was an amazing achievement for me. Bring on 2017.

All these achievements are down to the amazeballs team at FF. Their help, encouragement and advice along with the rest of the #fitnessformationfamilia and for that I am thankful beyond words.

I love the fact that I’m not overwhelmed when I walk in. There’s no scantily clad ‘gym bunnies’ that are mirror magnets. The fact that the boys make me laugh every time I’m in  (even though I’m quite shy) I don’t need to be and most of all no matter how low I feel when I walk in, I always feel great when I walk out.

I would recommend FF to anyone. After years of doing the rounds with gyms and classes FF is a breath of fresh air. I always look forward to going and I am looking forward to what else I can achieve there.

This week I purchased my first Fitness Formation sweatshirt and as soon as I left I put it on, as I and felt proud to be a part of who we are. FF rocks.
